Cool way to save energy
With the promise of outstanding energy efficiency in industrial and process cooling applications, Coolmation, the UK's distributor for Rhoss, has launched a new series of Eurovent-certified R134A chillers featuring a centrifugal, oil-free compressor.
Available in capacities from 150kW to 2,100kW, the Turbopower range promises outstanding savings because the compressor is generally the single, largest energy consumer within chillers. Compared with screw compressors, the Turbopower has an energy efficiency rating of up to four at full-load and in excess of eight at part-load, representing an efficiency increase of 10% and over 100% respectively.
Steve Warnock, Coolmation's group md, says: "Rhoss's Turbopower chillers mark a dramatic technological leap forward in chiller efficiency. Backed by Eurovent certification and the granting of ECA [enhanced capital allowance] approval, the Turbopower range of chillers offer huge running cost savings, which is an important factor with concerns over accelerating fuel prices."
