Offering small dairies and sausage manufacturers a high level of protection against mould and yeast growth was key to the development of DSM Food Specialities' new product Delvocid L. This liquid food preservation solution offers an alternative to traditional, powder-based natamycin products in a patented, stable liquid form.

Delvocid L contains 10% natamycin and can be applied in an immersion bath or spray suspension. It mixes easily with water and its subtle colour also enables manufacturers to ensure the natamycin is well blended for homogenous coverage.

The liquid format makes it easier to achieve the correct dosage, which avoids waste and labour-intensive weighing. Practical, transparent packaging makes the remaining volume visible for optimum use and control. It is available in smaller bottles for smaller firms looking to control and improve efficiency.

Marloes Moerman, product manager of preservation ingredients for DSM Food Specialties, says: "The fact that no dust is produced in use means that the working environment is safer and cleaner. Furthermore, Delvocid L's liquid format cuts costly manual weighing and measuring time. It is an extremely easy-to-use alternative to standard powders."
