For firms that trade by weight, providing evidence of conformity with calibration certificates is a legal requirement. That's why Avery Weigh-Tronix has introduced the first UK nationwide service web portal for managing the maintenance and service of weighing equipment. The secure online portal allows users to access certificates 24/7.

Each customer portal is a password-protected site enabling those authorised to access information about all of their weighing equipment in a way that suits their needs - even if calibration certificates are held across multiple sites and contracts. It can provide a single point of contact for its own and other manufacturers' weighing equipment.

Dave Webb, service director for Avery Weigh-Tronix, explains: "Many organisations have thousands of different weighing systems, from laboratory scales right up to weighbridges and it is often necessary to have current calibration certificates available to demonstrate their accuracy.

"Keeping track of calibration certificates using a paper-based system is a complex task in its own right. Using our new online system, the problem of lost calibration certificates will become a thing of the past."
