Air incorporation in mixture and foaming in tanks are common problems when mixing powder and liquids in the dairy industry.

For Arla Foods, the QB mixer turned out to be the solution. "No air in the product and no foam on top. The decision was easy after that," says Ricky Wilson, application manager at Arla UK.

"The QB mixer was installed this summer and after a few teething problems it is running above expectation," says Andrew Longton, production director at Arla's Northallerton plant.

Olle Bergman, marketing and sales director of QB Food Tech, which produces the machine, says: "The high performance of the QB mixer is due to its unconventional shape - a cube standing on one corner - creating better mixing performance and less air incorporation even without vacuum.

The QB mixer can be executed for batch mixing, semi-continuous or true continuous in-line mixing.
