Food Technology Noord-Oost Nederland in Holland (FTNON) has developed a new system for slicing a large variety of salads. Until now salads were sliced with rotating slicing wheels at high speed with the chance that the product could be damaged or bruised.

The new slicing machine from FTNON has oscillating knives which slice the salad products at high speed with hardly any force exerted on the product. The risk of damage or bruising is considerably reduced. The result is a perfectly sliced, visually attractive product with prolonged freshness.

FTNON has also introduced a new centrifuge for drying salads that also reduces the chance of bruising and damage. It can handle a range of products, large or small, such as leeks, peppers, carrots, cucumbers, endive, iceberg lettuce, and herbs. The result is a considerable improvement in quality and shelf-life.
