Greencore appoints new purchasing manager
In a further step to enhance its ability to mitigate the effects of inflationary cost pressures, Greencore has appointed Alwen Hill to the new position of group purchasing & supply chain director.
While retaining responsibility for the group’s purchasing managers and their teams, Hill’s role will now encompass the achievement of lean practices in the in-bound supply chain, warehousing and heavy goods vehicles distribution.
Greencore chief executive David Dilger said: “Achieving Total Lowest Cost [TLC] in our supply chain is an increasingly important objective. Alwen has considerable experience in both the purchasing and operational sphere, her appointment to this important new role will ensure that Greencore fully develops its `TLC` agenda in this area”
