Sipal Partners has launched a new range of organic syrups made from dried dates and figs. As natural sweeteners, Sipa-Dates and Sipa-Figs add a fruity taste and colour to a wide range of products including biscuits, cereal bars, breakfast cereals, drinks, yoghurts, desserts and sauces, says the firm.

The syrups are concentrated at a low temperature in order to preserve their flavour for use in products such as drinks.

Separately, Sipal is also launching a new syrup made from Kamut - an ancestor of modern durum wheat, to add flavour and colour to cereal-based products. They follow the recent launch of Sipa-Rice 35, an organic rice concentrate targeting the vegetable drinks industry.

The gluten-free ingredient can be used as a sweetener, bulking agent and fat replacer, says the firm, which has invested ?5M at the Meurens Natural production facility in Belgium in the last three years.
