Greencore separates management of key businesses

Convenience food group Greencore has decided to separate the management of its Cakes & Desserts, Frozen Foods and Foodservice businesses.

This has resulted in three senior appointments, two of which involve internal promotions. Paul Rhodes​, currently commercial director of Greencore Cakes & Desserts, becomes md of this category. David Gallagher​, currently operations director at Cakes & Desserts moves to Leeds as md of Greencore Frozen Foods.

Foodservice, which now accounts for a third of UK food and drink expenditure, is a key plank in Greencore`s strategy to extend its customer profile into alternative channels. Creation of a new stand-alone category will enable the group to more effectively reach this large and rapidly growing area of the market.

The Greencore Foodservice category is to be headed up by Neil Pinder​, who will join from Grampian Country Foods where he is md of the Foodservice division.
