Culina Logistics has set up a dedicated co-packing area at its new Prime Point distribution centre in Staffordshire. The new service will support chilled manufacturers with promotional offers and retailer requirements for specific packaged quantities.

The co-packing area employs around 20 staff and includes conveyors for handling product and ink jet printers for printing 'use-by' dates on to carton sleeves and boxes. Re-sleeving and promotional bar-coding are also provided at the 16,000m2 temperature-controlled distribution centre, which is situated next to J14 of the M6.

Already Culina has been re-palletising and bar-coding yoghurts; re-packing soft cheese products into mixed twin-packs; and re-labelling fresh fruit smoothies.
