Wok Express seals the deal
Expanding ready meals manufacturer Wok Express put the seal of approval on Packaging Automation's high throughput equipment by installing a PA182 (right) to meet rising demand.
The semi-automatic tray sealer copes with up to 600 portions an hour at the Lancashire plant, which supplies chilled product to supermarkets and foodservice customers.
"It has proved reliable and efficient as well as very easy to clean and maintain," says Wok Express founder, Ken Lam.
The compact, twin station machine, which can handle both atmospheric and modified atmosphere packaging, is designed for flexibility and rapid production changeovers.
The machine copes with a range of materials, including crystalline polyethylene terephthalate, polypropylene, PVC, board and foil. Worldwide, PA182s are estimated to be sealing and trimming reel-fed film on to 100M ready meal trays every week.
