With the heat rising on demand for summer barbecue products, equipment supplier UFM has launched the first industrial grinder capable of processing both frozen and fresh meat.

Manufactured by Austrian food equipment giant Laska, the WWB 200 SuperGrinder (above) can handle 100cm x 60cm x 30cm blocks of frozen meat, while capacity for fresh meat is slightly bigger.

A solid, specially moulded stainless steel feed worm initially chops frozen meat, while fresh product is treated more gently.

The feed worm can automatically regulate product flow to ensure that the optimum quantity of meat is fed into the working worm.

As a result, frozen and fresh blocks of meat can be minced to 0.3cm in a single process and the machine can be switched rapidly between fresh and frozen simply by changing the cutting set.

The SuperGrinder can be supplied with an optional hydraulic loading hoist and a range of additions, including cutting sets, desinewing equipment and conveyor belt.
