When production of Football's Famous Chicken Balti Pies at Shire Foods went into extra time, it decided to move to a new state-of-the-art manufacturing site at Leamington Spa.
Central to the operation was a 40t aluminium flour silo and handling system to transport material to the plant's new 150kg receiving vessel.
The package, provided by Braby, had to conform to ATEX standards for potentially explosive materials and offer Shire a 'turnkey storage solution' with faster handling times in order to keep up with demand from pie fans at more than 40 British football grounds.
"It [the system] now handles 30% more product per hour than it previously did," says Braby's sales and marketing director Paul Mayer.
