Turbo’s D150 depositor (right) will be used in the University of Lincoln’s bid to plug skills gaps in the food manufacturing sector.

Installed as part of an automatic ready meals line in a new training facility set up by the university and local firms, Geest, Moy Park, Premier and QV Foods, the depositor will be used to train operators in the set-up, maintenance and cleaning of equipment. The university says problems with depositors are frequently due to human error or poor maintenance, but these issues are difficult to address on a live line.

The depositor will also assist in new product development programmes and will be used for apprenticeship training and by students on the university’s HND and BSc courses.
