Wright's Pies in the north west of England has made a major investment in BCH equipment to help meet the increasing demand for its pies and pasties.

The Crewe factory produces a wide range of baked, chilled and frozen pies, pasties, savoury slices and sausage rolls.

Two BCH 1,000 litre pressure cookers along with vacuum cooling systems have enabled Wright's to increase production of its pie and pasty filling by reducing the simmering time required to create meat fillings - often reducing the time from hours to minutes.

Productivity improvements were also achieved by changing to BCH's vacuum cooling system, which has reduced operating costs compared to blast chilling, and reduced labour costs.

The equipment uses BCH's FlexiChef recipe system which provides automated recipe management with complete batch repeatability of product and ensures user-friendly operation.
