Dieters craving a guilt-free pastry fix will be rejoicing over the news that a cheese and onion savoury pastry roll has been developed under licence by Anthony Alan foods, for the Weight Watchers brand.

The roll, designed for no-fuss snacking, is filled with a blend of low-fat mature cheeses with diced onion and fresh potato wrapped in a flaky pastry. Each roll weighs 65g, has a total of three Weight Watchers points and contains 158 calories and 3.9g saturated fat.

The firm claims that the product is a tasty treat for vegetarians and non-vegetarians alike. The roll is being marketed towards consumers on the move so that people can incorporate healthy eating into their busy lifestyles.

"The Weight Watchers Cheese and Onion Roll is a fantastic opportunity for bakers and retailers in the fast food market to offer a quality, healthy alternative to more pedestrian pre-packaged foods," says Sarah Morgan, marketing director at Anthony Alan.

The rolls are available in packs of two and four and each roll is individually wrapped offering the consumer convenience, while maintaining freshness.
