Cost effective natural colour blends in beverages with enhanced visual appeal can be produced from caramel colour combined with other natural colours, claims D D Williamson, Europe’s largest caramel manufacturer. Examples include yellows, reds and oranges.

Earlier this year the company appointed Tefco Food Ingredients as its sales representative in the Benelux countries. This followed last year’s acquisition of Cargill’s Cerestar caramel colour operation in Manchester.

D D Williamson’s two manufacturing facilities in Europe produce more than 50 different caramels and burnt sugar products for food and beverage processing.
