Multi-million pound extension for Ferndale Foods
Ferndale Foods has just completed a £2.2m extension at its factory in Erith, Kent, to meet demand for its pre-packed, ready cooked meals.
The work, carried out by warehousing and distribution specialist Sbh.uk, included a new cold and chilled store, a new packaging store, plus an extension to the site’s ambient storage facility that will add three new loading bays and dock levellers.
External work includes new loading banks with lighting and drainage, a new site feeder road, which will be required to handle deliveries during the project, a pedestrian walkway and an extended boiler house.
Sbh.uk is also finishing work at food wholesaler 3663’s new warehouse in Harlow, Essex. The 6,440m square distribution centre has ambient, chilled and cold storage facilities and is due for completion this month.
