Automated sachet line for tea-maker
Ilapak has designed and built an automated sachet line for tea-packing company, Premier Foods.
Based on the Alfa 700 PC vertical sachet machine, and incorporating a conveyor and a counting system, the line produces tea bags which are supplied in catering-size packs to one of the UK's leading airlines.
Linked to a multi-bagging polybag line, the new installation can achieve speeds of up to 120 cycles a minute and, says Premier Foods' Dave Berry, "has enabled us to increase efficiency and make labour savings"
An important feature is the modular changeover system which has been developed by Ilapak for Premier Foods. This is a cartridge system designed to make changeovers in size quick to carry out, reducing downtime while remaining user-friendly and easy to operate.
