Supplier of pork pies and savoury rolls Pork Farms is entering the quiche sector with the launch of a Large Quiche Lorraine, Large Cheese & Onion Quiche and a four-pack Snack Quiche Lorraine.

Pork Farms, a brand within the Northern Foods Chilled Savoury Pastry Division, is looking to boost its sales of savoury pastry products in a market which is now worth more than £780m a year. It also hopes to gain from the seasonal upsurge in demand for picnic and casual eating food-to-go products.

Both the quiche variants are produced with butter-enriched short crust pastry cases. The Quiche Lorraine is filled with smoked bacon and mature cheddar and gruyere cheeses in a creamy custard and the Cheese & Onion quiche contains mature cheddar and red Leicester cheeses in a creamy custard.

The company is also hoping to capitalise on the growing savoury snacking sector with the launch of multiple packs of Savoury Bites, Snack-size Sausage Rolls, and Mini Pork Sausages.

The products will be on sale in stores from later this month.
