Unilever has gone back to basics with its Knorr brand to tap into the growing market for aspiring chefs looking to cook from scratch.

Simply Stock moves on from the range of stock cubes, soups and meal kits under the Knorr brand to encourage consumers to take a more active role in cooking. Available in chicken, vegetable and beef varieties, the liquid stock comes in easy-to-open 450ml pouches and is a simple base for many soups and sauces.

Unilever hopes consumers will trade up from buying stock in the cube format because of the fact that there is no need to prepare the stock. The products also contain no added preservatives, colours or flavourings, which Unilever says is a requirement of consumers who choose to cook with stock.
