An 18-year relationship between Bourne Stir Fry, part of the Geest Group, and Allibert Buckhorn has recently seen the latter company's containers being specified for use in the processing of ingredients.

Bourne produces packets of stir fry mix for five of the country's leading retailers and, bearing in mind that Allibert Buckhorn's service and availability have been high over the years, it was the natural supplier from which to source, explains Andrew Brockwell, Bourne's production manager.

"Another major factor was that there is no minimum order quantity or value stipulation, and the service levels are always the same regardless of whether our orders are large or small," he adds.

Bourne is using 600mm x 400mm x 300mm stack/nest containers from the moment raw ingredients are chopped until the point at which they are put into individual packs for sale.

Buckhorn is also supplying 1,200mm x 1,000mm bulk boxes in which Bourne collects vegetable waste generated as ingredients are chopped, mixed, and weighed.
