To improve product quality and reduce manual handling, Swiss chocolate maker Chocolat Frey has installed a new robotic line, supplied by Sigpack Systems, part of Bosch.

The line has been integrated with existing cartoners and closers, etc and can handle individual chocolates as well as blister packs in many shapes and sizes.

Up to 40 different packaging formats can be handled every day.

Once blister packs are moved on to the line a vision system transmits information to the robot motion controller so that products can be picked and placed correctly. Once filled, the blister packs are placed in boxes, supplied by a cartoner, and placed in position.
