New Flowcrete floor helps reduce vibrations generated by busy manufacturing operations

KP Nuts has recently installed a new Flowcrete floor at its Rotherham plant to aid production during the festive period.

The flooring system -- Flowshield LXP polyurethane self-leveller -- is coupled with a durable coating Flowcoat LXP to give a seamless, easy-to-clean finish that adheres to food industry standards.

Simon Clay, engineering manager at KP, says the floor was chosen because of its ability to cope with the large amount of vibration and bounce generated by the packing machines and fork-lift truck activity at the plant. The new floor has significantly reduced the amount of vibration generated by truck traffic, he says.

Various tests were also carried out to obtain the necessary balance between slip-resistance and ease-of-cleaning, says Clay.
