When Skipton-based frozen ready meals producer Christopher Foods needed a new heat sealing machine to cope with increased production and replace its rotary sealer, it opted for Packaging Automation's (PA) Vision 182.
The company also specified a specially built filling conveyor fitted to the equipment to ensure a smooth spread of the sauces which are a crucial constituent of the many dishes in its range.
"The filling conveyor is different from any other we have produced as the fill signal is given while the conveyor is indexing so as to ensure a smooth spread of sauces," says PA's Simon Turner.
The Vision 182 is aimed at companies moving into automated heat-sealing for the first time.
