Cavaghan & Gray has achieved more consistent weight of packaged product as it exits the nitrogen freezing tunnel as part of a project last year to redesign a frozen fish production line at its Grimsby plant.
The redesigned pack provides a bag, enabling the growing number of mature and single customers to keep unused fish portions fresh.
US company Key Technology's Impulse HS electromagnetic vibratory conveyor was an integral part of automating a manual weighing process and providing better weight consistency.
Fillets are fed to the Impulse HS, which delivers the correct portions to the weigh heads via multiple scale feeder channels. They are then weighed and packed.
