Laboratory mixer

The performance of production mixers can be reproduced within the laboratory with a completely new type of mixer.

The Ultramix is designed for those applications which are beyond the capabilities of a conventional agitator or stirrer but do not necessarily require the intense high shear of a Silverson rotor/stator mixer.

The Ultramix laboratory assembly is designed for use with the Silverson L4R series mixers, which will also accept any of the assemblies in the company's high shear rotor/stator laboratory range.

With a single shaft, no frame arms and small diameter mixing head, the Ultramix is ideal for use in narrow-necked containers, and provides good product circulation, allowing the laboratory model to mix volumes of up to 12 litres, depending on product viscosity.

Typical applications include: dispersion of powders, dissolving, deagglomerating, reaction acceleration, suspending and gelling.
