Coca-Cola Enterprises’ (CCE) latest education centre will attract young people into the food and drink manufacturing industry and play its part in helping to train around 20,000 people a year that pass through the centres in total when it opens in Milton Keynes this year.

That’s the view of CCE’s director of supply chain and group operations in this exclusive video for FoodManufacture.co.uk.

“It’s important not just as part of the local community, but nationally as well, to make sure we’re bringing young people through our plants and giving them the opportunity to link to their curriculum.

‘Opportunity’

“Also, giving them the opportunity to understand what manufacturing and distribution operations are about and hopefully attract some of those young people into [food and drink] businesses in this country.”

Watch this video to find out what benefits Adams said the centre would bring CCE.

He also claimed food companies had a responsibility to promote the industry to young people.

Meanwhile, lookout for our Big Interview with Adams in the February issue of Food Manufacture magazine to read his views on corporate social responsibility and working hard.
