Yearsley doubles site capacity and creates 120 jobs
The 13,936m2 unit is now open for business and supports rising demand for the storage of dry goods for one of Yearsley’s unnamed foodservice clients.
The group already has a 29,000 pallet cold storage facility at Belle Eau Park, its main hub for directly supplying foodservice clients across the UK.
The £10M investment is the first phase of development at the site, which will eventually feature a replacement cold store and new solar farm to supply electricity.

Recruitment is currently underway for new jobs, including warehouse staff, reach truck drivers, pickers, class one heavy goods vehicle drivers and management.
The company claimed the development also secured the existing 220 jobs at the site for the long term. Yearsley expected to complete recruitment by June.
The construction of the extra storage space was undertaken by Manchester contractor Russells Construction, which has built and extended a number of Yearsley’s facilities over the past decade. The project also included a new office building, service yard, fuel station and vehicle wash.
'Super hub'
“The new ambient store allows Yearsley Logistics to fulfil and extend its commitments to all its foodservice customers,” said Tim Moran, the firm's logistics director. “It is our first ‘super hub’ dedicated to this sector and we are very excited at how we have been able to bring the ambient side of our clients’ business on board as quickly and as efficiently as possible.
“We offer an all-encompassing service to manufacturers, wholesalers and importers alike, which also includes global logistics services. This means clients only need us as a single supplier for all their frozen and dry goods logistics needs, thus eliminating hassle and reducing cost.”
Yearsley claims to be the UK’s largest frozen logistics service provider, offering customers cold storage, distribution, ambient and freight-forwarding services. It has 12 depots across the UK, with storage space for 365,000 pallets, and operates a 300-strong fleet of temperature controlled vehicles.
