With plans to ratchet up production and the development of its flavoured milk, cottage cheese and Cravendale interests, there’s a lot going on at Arla’s Stourton dairy, as site operations director Steve McAuley reveals.
Chilled convenience firm Uniq said Christmas trading was “close to expectations” in the fourth quarter with a weaker performance in desserts (down 1.7%) offset by a strong performance in food-to-go (up 8.3%).
Arla’s 1bn-litre ‘super dairy’ will not – as suggested in press reports this week – be constructed ‘near the western fringe of the M25 between Slough and Uxbridge’, bosses have insisted.
