Pet food manufacturer Pets Choice is to purchase a number of brands from Petlife International to strengthen its product portfolio in the premium and veterinary sectors.

Financial details of the deal were not disclosed.

The company, which produces brands such as Webbox and Bob Martin, will take over sales of Otodex, FormulaH, Conficlean2, Welpi and Cimicat, from 1st November 2024.

This is the latest acquisition for the growing pet food company which announced the acquisition of HOWND from Power Pet Brands in July 2024.

Two month earlier, it agreed to purchase premium pet food brand Vet’s Kitchen from Pet's Kitchenfor an undisclosed sum.

Pets Choice supplies partners in the grocery, independent retail, E-Commerce, pet speciality and veterinary sectors.

Chief executive of Pets Choice, Tony Raeburn, said: “This is another fantastic acquisition for Pets Choice of five well established brands as we continue our drive into product premiumisation. We look forward to welcoming new customers to Pets Choice as well as being able to offer these brands to our extensive and loyal customer base, helping us to further consolidate our position as a leader in the pet care industry.”

Pets Choice revealed it would be continuing to expand the company and would need to bring in additional head count to meet its business demands.

Petlife International CEO James Hancock, said: “I have known Tony for many years and when we made the decision to sell some brands, enabling us to concentrate and invest in our Vetbed manufacturing division, Tony was our first port of call and Pets Choice are the perfect fit to drive these fantastic brands to the next level.”

In 2022, Pets Choice revealed plans to open a new 11,148m2 site to cater for the increasing demand for pet food products.
