There’s less than a month left to sign up for the next free, online Food Manufacture webinar, Lean & Green: Save Costs and the Planet, on 19 January 2022.

The event, sponsored by ESB Energy and hosted by Food Manufacture editor Rod Addy, will explore how food and drink manufacturers can offset rising production costs through increased efficiency and better use of resources – including renewable energy.

Experts from across the industry will help delegates weigh up the options and answer the key questions, such as how can number crunching and cost reduction save the planet? Have the easy wins all been considered? What sort of benefits can they really deliver and are they worth the effort? And is tackling a major project more trouble than it’s worth?

Webinar speakers

Speakers at this free event include:

  • Sam Jones, GB head of climate and sustainability at Coca-Cola Europacific Partners, who will outline some of the savings the company has made through efficient resource use.
  • Tom Southall, policy director for the Cold Chain Federation (CCF), who will explain initiatives to cut energy costs in the cold chain.
  • Neil Lawson, technical & operations director, ESB, who will examine how the company worked with meat processor ABP to boost food processing efficiency and renewable heat and heat recovery.
  • John Durkan, ABP Food Group's sustainability and environmental manager, who will join Lawson to explain their partnership.

The webinar is free to attend and is aimed at board director and heads of finance, operations and sustainability and runs from 3–4pm UK time.  Register now to take part on the day for free.

Time is also running out to book your place at next year’s Food Manufacture Excellence Awards, to be held on 10 February 2022 at London's Hilton Bankside in Great Suffolk Street - within 10 minutes' walk of Tate Modern, The Globe Theatre and Borough Market.
