Speedibake, the Yorkshire-based bakery manufacturer, has launched a range of muffins based on biscuit favourites - Jammie Dodger and Maryland Cookies.

The manufacturer, that is part of Associated British Foods, agreed a deal to produce the new range of muffins for Burton’s Biscuits.  The muffins are being produced at its Bradford factory in Yorkshire. 

Rob Turpin, commercial director at Speedibake said: “We’re really proud to have developed our first branded range of muffins with Burton’s Biscuits. 

“We knew we wanted to bring something fun and exciting to the in-store bakery muffin fixture, and Jammie Dodgers and Maryland Cookies are the Yorkshire bakery Speedibake are delighted to be working closely with Burton’s Biscuits, and their new range, with shoppers saying they’re looking for more new and exciting products in the in-store bakery, these are sure to hit the spot.”

Co-branding

The range includes Jammie Dodgers Muffin 2 pack; Maryland Cookies Muffin 2 pack and Mini Maryland Cookies Muffin 12 pack. 

The news comes Nestlé Professional and Dawn Foods signed a long-term contract for co-branding cooperation in the EMENA Region (Europe, Middle East & North Africa). The deal will see the companies partnering in product innovation for a range of sweet bakery products, starting with muffins and cookies. 

 Dawn Foods will create unique recipes and a range of bakery products, made with ingredients from Nestlé. 

Bakery 

The first product launched will be a KitKat muffin.

The co-branded products will be available for bakery channels, quick service restaurants and other locations across Europe, Middle East & North Africa regions.
