Kellogg to create 70 jobs in warehouse deal
The manufacturer is to lease a 48,774m2 warehouse in Haydock, St Helens – Kellogg’s largest warehouse in the UK – to support the delivery of its products across Britain and exports to the EU and the Middle East. The deal amount has not been disclosed.
The new site is located off the A580 near junction 23 of the M6 and is next to an existing Amazon warehouse. Kellogg planned to move into the site from 1 April 2020.
A home in the north west
Head of the business in the UK, Chris Silcock, said: “We’ve been proud to call the north west of England home since 1938 and, with all our British operations stretching from Manchester into North Wales, this move shows our renewed commitment to the region.
“It’s great to be able to open a base in St Helens and expand into the Liverpool City-Region in support of our broader business’ growth ambition.”
Kellogg’s move into Liverpool will strengthen its established roots in north-west England and North Wales, complementing its factories in Manchester and Wrexham and its head office in Salford’s MediaCity.

Kellogg’s multi-million pound warehouse deal comes three months after the company launched a direct-to-consumer kitchen in partnership with meal delivery service Deliveroo.
The delivery-only meals service, Kellogg’s Kitchen Creations produces meals that use Kellogg’s breakfast cereals and snacks among their ingredients and is completely run by the manufacturer. The move would see Kellogg’s products reaching consumers without using a retailer as the middleman.
Meanwhile, Leicester-based Food Attraction has doubled its production capacity and plans to create 150 new jobs with the help of funding from HSBC UK.
