Kinnerton’s Norfolk factory is gearing up to produce more than three million vegan and free-from chocolate bars in 2019, Food Manufacture has learned.

The site, which employs 560 staff, will make the confectionery for free-from chocolate brand NOMO, which this week debuted a four-strong selection of vegan and free-from bars in the UK in addition to its core range of products.

The nut-free range will be available in Creamy Choc, Dark, Fruit and Crunch, Caramel and Sea Salt flavours with the former two sold in 85g blocks as well as 32g bars.

The factory will also work on seasonal products launches for Christmas 2019 and Easter 2020.

'Wonderful project'

“We have been working on this range for some time to ensure we got it just right, it has been a wonderful project for everybody involved,” said Julia Catton, marketing and innovation director at Kinnerton Confectionery.

“Lovingly created in our rural Norfolk factory by our dedicated chocolatiers, the first line-up of NOMO bars, going on sale in leading UK retailers, are a game-changer for both vegan & free-from chocoholics who should not have to compromise on taste.”

The ‘No More Missing Out’ bars are currently on sale through Amazon, in Holland & Barrett and will be sold in Tesco stores from 22 May 2019.
