AB InBev has rebranded as Budweiser Brewing Group UK&I in the UK
Alcoholic drinks manufacturer AB InBev has changed the name of its UK business to Budweiser Brewing Group UK&I.

The manufacturer – which boasts brands including the titular Budweiser, as well as Beck’s and Corona – said the more recognisable name would help boost awareness of the company and confirm its commitment to sustainability and production in the UK.

The name change followed the appointment of Paula Lindenberg as its new president of UK and Ireland operations in January, as well as the opening of its new London headquarters on Fetter Lane in Farringdon.

Recognition

“We are a fast-paced, ambitious group that dreams big, and we have exciting plans ahead for the UK and Ireland,” said Lindenberg. “Through the power and recognition of the Budweiser brand, we want to open ourselves up to working with more partners to achieve our ambitions.”

Budweiser Brewing Group will support the company’s greater focus on the UK by using 100% British barley and 100% renewable electricity sourced from UK solar power in the production of its Budweiser beer.

Goals

The company has also outlined five goals it hoped to achieve, including championing British beer culture and boost trade throughout the drinks supply chain, becoming one of the best places to work and becoming the UK’s most sustainable brewer. A full list can be found in the box below.

Lindenberg added: “We are looking forward to making a big impact in the year ahead, working towards brewing our beers with 100% renewable electricity and accelerating our progress towards 20% of our global products being no or low alcohol.”

Meanwhile, this month also saw Carrs Foods rebrand itself the St Pierre Group and secure £6.7m of investment to accelerate international growth.

Budweiser Brewing Group’s top five goals

  • Champion Britain’s iconic beer culture with trade-boosting programmes for the whole community, from barley farmers to pubs and retail.
  • Create a nation of smart drinkers, helping to shift social norms to embrace moderation and cut harmful drinking.
  • Be the UK’s most sustainable brewer as it works towards brewing with renewable electricity and locally-sourced barley.
  • Be one of the best places to work, promoting apprenticeships, development and diversity.
  • Bring more people together with great beers for every occasion by continuing to invest in premium drinks and powerful brands.
