Mondelēz International’s Ian Noble, winner of the Business Leader 2018 award at this year’s Food Manufacture Excellence Awards (FMEAs), shares his surprise at winning the prize.

In this exclusive video interview, filmed on awards night last week at the Hilton Park Lane in London, Noble – who is senior research, development and quality director at the Cadbury owner – confessed that while he had worked a long time to represent the UK food and drink manufacturing industry, he never expected to beat the rest of the completion on display.

Commenting on the awards night, Noble said: “The thing I like best is that you see the real side of the food and drink manufacturing in the UK. You see all these fabulous small companies with brilliant teams of people that make the impossible happen every single day.

‘Inspiration and a sense of challenge’

“I think others could gain inspiration and a sense of challenge and a sense of ‘that could be us’ if they were to come to the awards.”

Last week’s FMEAs, sponsored by KDH Projects and Systems Integration, shone a light on the best and brightest in the food and drink manufacturing industry, celebrating their achievements across a wide range of categories.
