Food Manufacture Company of the Year ABP UK’s John Tynan shares his thoughts on the company winning three awards at last year’s Food Manufacture Excellence Awards (FMEAs).

In this exclusive video interview, Tynan attributed the plethora of wins at the 2018 awards to the company’s committed and focused team.

Commenting on the night, Tynan said: “I like the atmosphere between large companies, small companies. It’s really good. There’s no retribution [between businesses], it’s just good fun and everybody is cheering for each other.”

The FMEAs’ judging panel, led by Stobart Group chairman Iain Ferguson, praised the meat processor for championing a tough stance on modern slavery and illegal gangmasters, as well as driving a comprehensive programme of environmental initiatives.

‘Best in class’

One judge on the panel described ABP UK as “fantastic, best in class”, while another said: “They are industry leaders and take their leadership very seriously.”

Last week’s FMEAs, sponsored by KDH Projects and Systems Integration, shone a light on the best and brightest in the food and drink manufacturing industry, celebrating their achievements across a wide range of categories.
