The brightest and biggest stars in the food and drink industry will gather tonight at the Hilton on Park Lane in London at the Food Manufacture Excellence Awards.

Hosted by TV personality Gregg Wallace, this is the 18th year of the Food Manufacture Excellence Awards, which reward all elements of food and drink manufacturing, including environmental initiatives, business acumen, business change management, supply chain innovation, young talent and teamwork.

Categories up for grabs at this year’s awards include ambient, bakery, chilled, fresh & dairy, frozen, ingredients, and meat, poultry & seafood. The event will also award export, partnership, training, apprentices and site team of the year categories, as well as the Small, Large and Overall Manufacturing Company of the Year.

This year’s finalists are a who’s who of food and drink manufacturing, with Tulip, PepsiCo, ABP UK, Weetabix and Finsbury Food Group all vying for awards. The judging panel, led by former Tate & Lyle boss and joint chairman of the Food and Drink Sector Council Iain Ferguson, were impressed by the quality of entries for this year’s awards, making deciding upon an overall winner extremely difficult.
