Ramsay previously worked at Allied Bakeries, where she was responsible for improving and maintaining standards across the customer brand portfolio. Prior to this, she also held roles with McCormick’s and the Leatherhead Food Research Association.
Ramsay will be primarily responsible for supplier assurance and regulating the food safety, legality and quality of Wessanen UK’s products. A key strategic focus for her will be directly supporting Wessanen UK’s commitment to sustainable and ethical practices in line with the wider company vision, Connecting to Nature.
On her appointment, Ramsay said: “Wessanen UK has firm, established sustainability credentials and I’m really looking forward to supporting the business as we strive to further improve and balance our environmental, social and economic sustainability.
“Our brands are all managed by highly motivated and knowledgeable quality, R&D and marketing teams, and I will work closely alongside them to further our consumer offering from both a technical and sustainability perspective.”
Ann Chambers, HR director at Wessanen UK, added: “Cristina has joined the business at a really important time, as we place a clear focus on our supply chain, our environmental outputs and our ethical credentials.”
The business also won the Me and My Factory: Editor’s Choice Award at the 2017 Food Manufacture Excellence Awards.
