A new type of pack designed for hassle-free on-the-go eating was launched by Graphic Packaging International (GPI) at the Packaging Innovations Show, which took place at the National Exhibition Centre in Birmingham from February 28 to March 1.

Integraflex is created to combine the best characteristics of folding carton and flexible packaging to deliver a compact pack that is simple to open and reseal. Since the packs can stand on their own, they allow for easy filling, says GPI.

In addition, the printing surface on the packs allows for flexible and rigid pack elements to be branded with high-resolution graphics. The novel design of the pack’s flexible component also allows it to be transformed into a placemat.

The cartonboard element of Integraflex can be laminated or coated and comes with a choice of shapes, opening features and materials, including microwavable and ovenable films.
