Yorkshire-based manufacturer Bite UK has launched a range of pea, rice and peanut snacks exclusively at restaurant chain YO! Sushi nationwide.

The range, located at YO! Sushi’s takeaway convenience till-points, has been launched in more than 70 restaurants around the UK this month.

Three variants of the snacks are available in 50g pack sizes: YO! Sushi Wasabi Peas, YO! Sushi Chilli Rice Crackers and YO! Sushi Chilli Peanuts.

‘Creativity and pioneering spirit’

Bite UK founder Jason Bull said: “We are very proud to be working with such a ground-breaking brand. We admire YO! Sushi’s creativity and pioneering spirit.

“At Bite UK we specialise in producing healthy snacks for UK consumers. Our technical team focuses on great taste and bringing a quality product to market at a competitive price to retailers.”

The launch of the new range follows growth of 26% in snacking categories last year, according to Kantar Worldpanel.

Healthy snack products

Bite UK is the new sister company of ingredients supplier Eurostar Commodities and is dedicated to the development, manufacturing and retailing of free-from, healthy snack products.

It focuses on foods that are low in calories and fat, while being suitable for people with allergies, intolerances and conditions such as coeliac disease.

Bite UK’s brands include the healthy snacking range Pure Bite, Spiffing sprouted flours and Kintaro snacks and sushi rice. It also manufactures own-label products for a number of UK retailers.

Meanwhile, as better-for-you-snacks brand Graze prepares to roll out new sharing bag formats, extending its reach from the checkout to the central aisles of the supermarket, the company has revealed the ‘Test & Learn’ strategy it follows when introducing new packaging and new products.
