Sushi Daily, the international sushi supplier, is recalling a batch of its Sushigari (ginger) sold in jars at its kiosks in selected supermarkets because the product may contain small pieces of glass.

The products, under the name Sushi Daily Sushigari in 140g jars, are being recalled from some Waitrose and Sainsbury’s stores.

The jars have a best before date of June 2 2018 and a lot number of 18081. The company said no other Sushi Daily products were known to be affected.

As a precautionary measure, the company is asking customers who have purchased affected items not to consume them, but to return them to their nearest store, where they will receive a full refund.

Sushi Daily has apologised to customers for the inconvenience.
