NEWS IN BRIEF
Flavouring can return the lost taste of sugar
TasteSense offered the taste and mouthfeel that sugar delivers, without the negative labelling impact, it said.
Allowing for a 30% sugar reduction, it was suitable for use in all food or beverage categories where a flavour can be used – including beverages, yogurt, ice cream, bakery items and ready meals.
Many sweeteners cannot fully deliver the lost taste, and mouthfeel of sugar – and they also bring with them undesirable off-notes and aftertastes – said Leigh Anne Vaughan, marketing director at Kerry Taste and Nutrition.
“We have developed TasteSense to address these issues,” she added.
