Robot chefs and Industry 4.0 drew the attention of Twitter users at this year's Interpack
Robots and Industry 4.0 were the focus of twitter users visiting packaging show Interpack in Dusseldorf. We captured the highlights of the event, which runs from May 4–10, in tweets.

OAL’s robot chef APRIL (Automated Processing Robotic Ingredient Loading) drew crowds by signing autographs for show goers.

Other robotic offerings on display included a machine making desserts and a cocktail making robot from Schneider Electric.

The growing interest in Industry 4.0 was summarised in an infographic produced by Interpack after surveying companies in the packaging sector.

Important for decision-making process

Of the companies surveyed, 83% said that collection analysis and the use of data were becoming more and more important for the decision-making process.

It also found that 75% believed it was impossible to keep their own market share without a digitisation strategy.

Other key trends impacting packaging at this year’s exhibition included health and wellness and recycling and environmental issues.
