RSPO-certified palm oil set to fall by a fifth

The decision by Malaysian agri-business Felda to voluntarily withdraw its own RSPO certification, combined with palm oil group IOI’s certification suspension by the RSPO, will reduce the global supply of certified sustainable palm oil (CSPO) via all approved chain of custody models by 2.5Mt.
Equivalent figure
This is equivalent to 18.5% of all the RSPO-certified palm oil material available – according to Book&Claim, which operates the GreenPalm programme.
Book&Claim advised buyers to consider their ongoing requirements and move fast to secure the CSPO or certificates they need, before supply is squeezed further.
