Other food and drink related firms appeared in the Top Track 100 list.
- John Lewis Partnership is the third fastest growing firm in Britain, according to the list. The country’s largest employee-owned company made £145M in profit this year. More than 90,000 members of staff received bonuses equivalent to more than five weeks’ pay.
- Frozen food retailer Iceland ranked 12th on the Top Track 100 list, making £150M in profit last year. Owner Malcolm Walker originally set up the company in 1970 with a £30 investment. Forty-two years later, he regained control of the business following a buyout deal with its Icelandic owners; a deal worth £1.45bn.
- Family-owned AF Blakemore & Son made £19M in profit last year, ranking the company 39th on the Top Track 100 League Table. The food distributor was established in 1917, and now supplies groceries to more than 1,000 Spar stores, 295 of which it owns.
- Lamex Food Group is the 65th fastest growing private firm in Britain, according to the list. Making £17M in profit last year, the food importer and exporter has now built a network of offices in 13 countries. It works with some of the world’s largest food companies, including Coca-Cola, Danone and Kentucky Fried Chicken.
- Frozen food retailer Farmfoods placed 76th on the Top Track list, and enjoyed £26M in profit last year. The company began as a meat distributor in Aberdeen more than 60 years ago, and transformed into a frozen food retailer with more than 300 stores across the country.
