Dry tomato pulp to debut at world's top ingredients show

Being 100% natural, DTP adds a fresh, consistent red colour to sauces, condiments, soups, ready meals, and processed meats with no risk of turning brown like some other colourants, said producer Lycored.
DTP also provides an authentic cooked-from-scratch texture and a healthy fibre content, it claimed.
Taste enhancer
Lycored will also use the show to showcase Sante, a taste enhancer that provides a high concentration of the natural compounds that produce umami (the fifth taste) and kokumi (the Japanese word for deliciousness) to accentuate existing flavour characteristics while remaining taste neutral.
Sante enables producers to create “deliciousness naturally” and reduce levels of ingredients that can be unattractive on the label, such as salt and yeast, the UK-based company said.
World’s largest
Run by the Institute of Food Technologists, IFT16 is the world’s largest ingredients show.
It will take place in Chicago from July 16–19.
