Red Tractor-certified Speciality Breads has added to its ciabatta range with the launch of a new Malted Ciapanini roll made with Kent’s cold-pressed rapeseed oil.
The ciabatta-panini cross signifies a change for the bread company as it is replacing olive oil with rapeseed oil across its ciabatta and focaccia ranges from this month (June).
Speciality Breads said the change would not only increase taste quality but would strengthen its Red Tractor and British-made credentials as well as decrease food miles.
Speciality Breads md Peter Millen said: “Our Red Tractor credentials have helped set us apart within the market and generate a reputation for providing the finest British-made breads to the foodservice sector.
“With our home county of Kent producing some of the best cold pressed rapeseed oil available, we began looking at the option of a change last year as a way of improving flavour, supporting local producers and getting closer to our aim of offering products that are quite literally British born and bred.”
