EHL Ingredients has added two Oriental ingredient blends to meet the demand for authentic world flavours.

Chinese Five Spice is said to be a subtle combination of fennel, cassia, star anise, clove and black pepper.

The mix of sweet, sour, bitter and spicy tastes, together provide a seasoning base for dishes such as stir fries and chow mein.

Aromatic Oriental dry marinade

Designed for use on a range of proteins or meats, the Aromatic Oriental dry marinade is claimed to be a mix of star anise, ginger, fennel and cinnamon.

The versatility of marinade flavours provide a simple and efficient process for manufacturers looking to deliver popular, high quality products, EHL said.

‘Chinese food is still popular’

“Research shows that Chinese food is still popular among consumers, whether for eating in or dining out,” said Tasneem Backhouse, sales director at EHL Ingredients.

“We have developed the individual ingredients in our product portfolio to make up these popular blends, so it is easier for manufacturers to create products that satisfy emerging trends in consumer tastes.”
