The food manufacturer cracked down on antibiotics in poultry production and continued to invest heavily in ways to combat food poisoning bug campylobacter.
The company’s successes were recognised when it won the Judges’ star performer accolade at the Food Manufacture Excellence Awards in November.
2 Sisters’ parent company Boparan Holdings was also named as the UK’s largest food and drink manufacturer this year, according to an index of 150 firms.
The top ranking came after a string of acquisitions – including Vion meat businesses, Brookes Avana business and Northern Foods – in recent years.
